Suppose...

Suppose someone invented a machine that was so ingenious that everybody bought it and that also had the power of turning people into idiots. What would that mean when it came to democracy? Should everybody who had this machine and this lunacy be allowed to execute democratic rights and be allowed to vote in public elections?
